It is our responsibility as parents to protect children from those things that we don’t believe they should be subjected to. In terms of films, R rated movies are an obvious area to start but even some G rated films contains scenes that you wouldn’t necessarily want the kids viewing. Having to constantly worry about what’s coming up next really takes all of the fun out of watching a film, and the children certainly don’t enjoy having their eyes covered or being told to close their ears.
Wholesome family films have something to keep every family member entertained. There are usually elements of comedy and strong characters for the adults to latch onto while stunning visuals and fantastical tales help to capture the imagination of children and keep them enraptured for hours. This family friendly combination is what has helped G rated movies vastly outsell their R rated counterparts, even though many producers seemingly see R rated movie production as being cooler.
